Do I change diaper at night?

I have heard not to change baby at night unless they poop is this correct? Or should I change at least once every night? FTM and I am so confused because I feel bad not changing him, but when I do he stays up for at least an hour. I make sure to put Vaseline on his bottom and crevices in order to avoid diaper rash and always change him if he poops at night and he wears night diapers. Let me know what y’all do. I feel like a bad mom not changing him halfway through the night.
