2 different packs

When I refill my prescription I get three months worth of my birth control (3 packs)

I took the wrong pack and I couldnt get the one I was using, so I took the pill I would have taken from a different pack. They are the same exact pills from different packs. Is this still protective? Am I safe to have sex? Should I go back to my original pack tm or stay with the new one?
