Experience with progesterone prescription?

Question

When does your period start after taking progesterone? My doctor has me starting progesterone this month as I’ve had some cycle irregularities. While most months I had a good bbt shift and 12 day LP, I had a couple shorter LPs and one that was normal length but temps didn’t shift much. I will be starting progesterone this month a couple days after peak opk. I’m wondering how much this will impact my LP. Please share your experiences! Thanks!

For me, my first time with progesterone it took two rounds of a 10-day prescription. That was like 5 years ago. Recently I was prescribed it again and I got AF on my 10th day, but then AF hasn’t come back again. So it might take 1-2 rounds before you regulate. For my BFF, she did one round of progesterone but AF came two weeks later for her. So everyone is different! Hope it works for you!

I am on progesterone cream and it doesn’t effect my cycle at all. I take until my period starts and then I stop it until ovulation and then I start it again 3 days post ovulation.

Thanks. I’m on the oral 10 day prescription. I’m wondering as I’m booking travel plans and timing will be tight. I know everyone is different but also wanted to see what the typical range of experiences is. I appreciate the insight from those who have posted and would love to hear more. :)
