Has anyone not pumped for a while and been fine ?

Question

I didn’t pump while I was out and gave her formula. My boobs got larger and hurt. Also was leaking. I hope everything is fine. I don’t know how to tell if anything is clogged or infected 
I think I went less than 12 hours for a day now then started to pump 3 times that day and at night I didn’t pump also.. I’m back pumping now every 3 hours but I don’t want to pump at night and wondering if that’s fine

It depends on how often you want to give your baby breast milk and if they’re sleeping through the night. If you keep skipping pumping sessions your supply will decrease. Sometimes it can lead to clogged milk ducts as well. If you want to stop pumping at night you can but it’ll take your body about a week to adjust so your breasts don’t feel full and engorged any more.

I'm sure it just depends on your supply and you. I had an over supply and if I went an hour over 3 hours of not pumping I was getting clogged. I then even eventually came down with mastitis 😭. I would just encourage you to pump or feed anytime you become engorged or before you get to that point because not only does it get uncomfortable but that's when it could cause issues. If you ever feel a hard lump  or a bruise tender feeling that's a good sign you have clogged duct.
