Is it rude to do someone’s work for them in a group project?

Context: For one of my classes, I have a partner presentation on Wednesday. I did my half of the research, presentation, and essay, but I’m kinda antsy and was thinking about doing some of her share of the work. I know it’s weird but do you think that’s acceptable or would that be overstepping? I wouldn’t mind because the topic is fun but I don’t wanna be overzealous lol. thank you in advance

I’d advise to not do her work, you can actually get in trouble for doing her portion of the project. I understand your antsy I was in the same position and my partner didn’t end up doing their portion but I told the professor that I did my part, if she doesn’t do her portion by midday Tuesday I’d email your professor.

I actually had this happen in a group project. Came down to the day before it was due so I did one gals portion for her. She complained to the professor and said she wasn’t graded fairly because her work wasn’t given a chance to be evaluated. Her work was worse than mine though....it caused tension for the rest of the semester and totally ruined how I look at group projects. There’s always that lazy group member, let them be lazy and make it clear what portions you actually did. That’s usually enough to bring a case to the professor stating you did your best and that the short comings of the assignment were because of your group member. Good luck.
