Can’t think clearly! Any opinions?

Am dating a 22 years old guy and am older than him seven years.. everything was going okay but sometime he say we are together sometimes he say we are just friends!! 
I don’t wanna be the friend with benefits! 
What am trying to say that I know what I want but he doesn’t! I feel he wanna keep his options open! He’s thinking that he can find someone better than me. I feel he wanna check what is out there! 
Last time he said he doesn’t want relation. This kid is confusing me. 
The age is playing a big part isn’t it? 
And after we opened the subject he didn’t contact me for 3 days..

If someone says you’re together sometimes and then sometimes says you’re not, then you aren’t together

You need to demand the respect you deserve. You need to straight up tell him we’re in a relationship or I’m done. He will respect you for that. If he doesn’t want a relationship with you, then you have your answer and you should move on. But right now, you’re letting him get away with being wishy washy. He’s getting the best of both worlds- he gets you and to potentially hit on other people if he wants and you’re letting him. If you’ve been together for a little while now (like more than a month), I think you have every right to demand more. Most men find it sexy when women know what they want and won’t settle for their bs. It’s hard because you may be scared to lose him, but if he’s willing to let you go, he isn’t the one. And sometimes guys will let you go, but if you stay strong and don’t cave, they’ll come running back in a few weeks and offer you the world. It’s psychology
