When do I give up on breastfeeding?

My LO is 7 months old. After the first week breastfeeding was a breeze, he had a wonderful latch and supply was never an issue. However, now that I am 8w Pregnant and LO has a tooth, it is hell. I cry in fear waiting for him to bite down and pull. I scream out in pain and am really not coping. I have a high pain tolerance but the pregnancy has caused my nipples to be so sensitive that even a graze is uncomfortable, let alone this. I don’t know what to do. I’m overwhelmed with guilt and worry. Any advice or suggestions would be unbelievably appreciated.

In my opinion breastfeeding SHOULD NEVER be a negative impact on your mental health, emotions, life, baby etc.
Any stress your having is transferring to the baby. 
I stopped at 4m with my first. It was literally putting me in tears because I wasn’t producing enough. It wasn’t until my wonderful husband said.... why are you trying so hard and so upset? If trying is doing this to you it is OK to stop. He totally understood why but was more supportive of if it’s not happening, it’s ok!
I wish society would quit putting pressure on moms to breastfeed because you know what !?!? It can really hurt and impact someone who can’t, someone who struggled to. IT DOESN’T ALWAYS WORK OUT!!! And that is OK!!
Plus at 7m your little one can eat baby food and get nutrients from other places. 
I was a breastfed baby and am thankful I’m not ever sick but I have allergies like a mofo, AND asthma.
My daughter was only breastfeed until 4 m and is NEVER sick, doesn’t have allergies or asthma. So in my opinion you can still have things breastfeed is supposed to “elimintae/lower chances” and bottle fed babies are just fine!
You did a great job mama. You made it to 7 months, that’s amazing!!!

Moms need to start supporting moms and STOP bashing them. We all do things different. Just like the “oh I gave birth naturally” oh well good for you. Not all of our birthing stories happen that way. SHIT DOESNT WORK OUT FOR EVERYONE, quit making people feel bad for THEIR STORY.

I had severe nursing aversion in first trimester of my pregnancy (the skin crawl feeling) and in second trimester my milk dried up. It just wasn’t meant to continue for us. Best of luck.

I’ve breastfeed through 2 pregnancies and the sensitive nipples/pain when latching was short lived for me both times... maybe a couple weeks and then it was business as usual. 
The biting hurts no matter what, but you can teach baby not to bite. First of all, play close attention to when he stops actively nursing so you can anticipate his moves and remove him before he starts to “play” and inevitably bite. If he does bite, try not to react at all, just carefully and quickly remove him and stop the nursing session. You can feed again after 10/15 mins if he needs to eat more. Pretty much any reaction will be entertaining to him and he’ll do it again.. but as soon as he realizes biting means no more milk, he won’t want to bite. 
That said, it’s entirely your call if you want to work through this or switch to formula. Pumping and bottle feeding is of course another option.

Have you thought about maybe pumping? That way he is still getting your milk but you don’t have to worry about your nipple sensitivity.
