Baby high up already?

Question

I am 12w3d My doctor couldn't find the heart beat using the doppler, he was looking in the lower abdomen. 
He ended up doing a ultrasound to make sure baby is okay,baby is great but to find the baby with the ultrasound he had to go at and above my belly button. 
He said this is odd, I don't find it that odd since my first pregnancy my son was always up there.
Anyone else have a pregnancy with baby being up high so early?
He said the baby is in the position of someone thats 20 weeks along .
When I had a ultrasound done last week at my high risk doctor around the belly button is where the tech found it too and she didnt say anything nor did the doctor 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yeah that’s strange. I’ve never had a Doppler or ultrasound above my belly button. You uterus is near your bikini line. Normally your baby isn’t going to be big enough to start moving organs until later in pregnancy.

It’s not as odd as others are making it sound. If it’s your second pregnancy, your uterus can expand upwards more quickly. I’m on my second pregnancy, and this exact scenario happened to me last week, and I was 14 weeks. The doc couldn’t find the heartbeat, but he was scanning by my pubic bone. He went and got the ultrasound and continued to scan low. I pointed to where I could feel the baby, and it was just below my belly button on my right side. He scanned there with the ultrasound machine, and voila! There was my baby. Yea it was higher than “normal” for that stage, but this is my second, so I’m not incredibly surprised.

It is odd because your uterus should be way below your belly button so baby shouldn’t be up above your belly button until 20 weeks like he said.
