Skyla IUD, BV & bleeding???

Question

I have the skyla IUD I got it inserted in July 18th and my periods were regular until today possibly? I’m not supposed to start my period for 15 days but I’m bleeding, not spotting I’d say I’m having some light bleeding 
I have BV at the moment and I’m taking anti biotics for it, but I haven’t even completed a full dose yet. Is spotting and light bleeding normal with BV? Could the skyla IUD completely restart my period?

Answer

Irregular bleeding is the most common side effect. This includes heavier bleeding, longer bleeding, spotting, no periods, periods closer together or farther apart. Initial bleeding can last between 3 to 6 months. But irregular bleeding can occur at anytime during the use of the iud. 
Its unlikely from antibiotics because the iuds dont interact with medications. I dont think BV causes irregular bleeding.
