Spotting/bleeding doesn’t automatically mean you’re pregnant
Why does it seem like lately there is a rise in posts asking if any bleeding or spotting means that you’re pregnant?
This whole implantation bleeding thing has gotten out of control.
So here are some facts before you assume that any spotting you have is automatically implantation bleeding.
1. Implantation bleeding is RARE! Only 10-15% of women have bleeding during implantation.
2. Implantation bleeding is very light! It would be spotting and show up when you wipe only or you would only need a panty liner at most.
3. Implantation bleeding is light pink or light brown. It’s not red.
4. Implantation bleeding lasts a couple wipes to a couple days at the most.
5. Implantation bleeding cannot happen earlier than 6dpo and no later than 13dpo.
So many women confuse early pregnancy spotting with implantation bleeding.
Early pregnancy spotting can be red, can last more than 2-3 days, can be heavier, can happen later than 13dpo, and is much more common.
If you’re bleeding or spotting before or around the time of your period, give it 2-3 days and then take a pregnancy test.
