When to remove pacifier?

Mamas, my LO still uses the pacifier to fall asleep. Will spit it out once she’s asleep, and doesn’t use it throughout the day when she’s awake. When do we remove it, and if youve already done so...how did it go?

My mom told me I was a big girl that didn’t need a paci anymore when I was 2 and had me throw mine away on my own. I plan to do the same with my son. Let’s the child feel like they have control and that they made the decision.

My son is the only one of my babies who took a pacifier. He was SO attached to it... I was so nervous about taking it away! My sister said to make a hole in the top of it and it doesn’t give the same effect when they suck on it. I was skeptical but it worked! He lost interest within a few days and that was it. He was only one! (He’s 11 now lol)

My son developed a rash from drooling last week and decided he didn’t want the pacifier anymore while he had the rash. I feel lucky because our first was a struggle and just got rid of his 2 months ago (he’s 3).   😂

My oldest was the only one to take one and we took hers away when she was about 2. I just told her we lost it. She got over it fairly quickly

I decided to remove mine but he doesn’t take good naps and doesn’t sleep good at night and now he sucks on empty bottles🤦🏼‍♀️ idk what to do anymore
