MIL treating me like a science project
I am giving birth in a couple weeks and my MIL keeps saying I have to stay at her house for at least the first week after delivering because she has ladies that she hired to take care of me so that I don't do anything. Like assist with changing, going to the bathroom, feeding me etc. They are like doulas which I think is great but I really want to be in my own home. She keeps telling me because I have so many stairs in my home and she lives in a one level house which is why she needs me to be at her house. Also she wants to "see" me in the evenings to give me this herbal tea to flush out the "excess water." I feel smothered and don't understand what is the big deal about post delivery. I appreciate the help but it seems like she is not giving me an option and is acting like she is a postpartum professional. Anyone have any idea about postpartum care and is it really that necessary?
