Clomid Help

I started my first round of clomid 50mg on September 9th-13th. I tested for ovulation everyday the 16th-21st with all showing negative. I missed my period. I took a pregnancy test on the 5th of October and got a BFN. On October 6th (day 32) I began to spot. Very light and only for a few hours. Took another pregnancy test on oct 8th and got another BFN. Called the doc and was told to count that as my period and start cycle #2 on clomid. Has anyone else experienced something similar while on clomid?
