Thrush?

My babies tongue is white and everyone keeps telling me she has thrush. Has anyones LO gone through this? I have an appointment next week but just want to hear your experience with it if any!😩

Likely milk, my son has it too.  As long as it’s just on his tongue and not on his gums or cheeks, then you’re good.

We dealt with this recently and it was NO FUN! That said, alot of the time a white tongue is just milk. Sometimes googling images is helpful. Babe's looked super white and super thick, like a coating on the tongue. Plus white patches on gums, cheeks, the palate. Didn't seem to bother baby. Probiotic drops and boiling/ washing anything that touched babe's mouth or my nipples with each use (or just the dishwasher) cleared it up for us, only took about three days. By then babe had passed it to me. That was awful! Red sore nipples with a shine to them and burning pain with the slightest touch. One side cleared up within a couple days and was pain free. The other only seemed to get worse and became too painful to nurse with. I had to pump it, which was painful, but much more tolerable than nursing. Coconut oil at night, probiotics during the day, ice packs for pain after pumping, letting breastmilk air dry on them, making sure to keep them as dry as possible, and continuing to sterilize everything with each use cleared it up in about a week and a half. I continued to pump til I was completely pain free (after trying to latch once or twice a day initially), then for two more days. I was scared to try latching again. But when I did it it was perfect! No pain at all. I almost cried I was so happy!

I was told my baby didn't have tush by  few people. I went into the dr the next day for a check up and the dr tested her and she did.
If you can't wipe it off, then it could be thrush. Other signs were unlatching and unlatching (painful for baby), red butt (thrush in the diaper area), and painful nipples (my would burn). I have gone through 2 rounds of meds and my baby is 8 weeks old.
Sometimes babies won't act like they are in pain with it, so the dr will just want to keep an eye on it. Definitely check with your dr though!

It’s probably not thrush. It’s milk. My daughter has it too. I heard you can get a wet wash cloth and wipe it off a little.

My babies is white too, dr said its milk stain (she is formula fed). I felt dumb lol went to dr for thrush... ftm here and thats what i was told too.
Dr said if its on gums/cheeks and if a wet rag wont take it off, then its thrush.

It’s milk. Dampen a cloth and wrap it around you finger to wipe baby’s tongue.
