My reptile knows I'm pregnant!

So I have a tegu monitor (those who don't know, it's a big reptile what can grow up to 5foot long) he's 3 now so almost at full length... When I first fell pregnant in March he wouldn't come near me, I tried holding him, laying him on my belly, hugging him and he would just get off and leave me alone. We've had him since he was as tiny as could be so it kinda upset me how he just didn't want to be near me...

The past 2 weeks (I'm 30+5 today) he's been non stop leaving me alone. Usually he hides under the sofa 🤣 but recently he's been coming up and laying out on my belly. He's become affectionate!

I'll get him out and he will climb up the sofa and just come up and lay on my belly for hours until I put him back. When he feels baby move he tries to flatten out on my belly more... As if he's trying to incubate me 🤣

Iv never seen this behaviour before in a reptile before!

Feeling sooo loved and I can also cuddle him and love him as if he was a baby! Nesting phase hasn't kicked in but my motherly loving instincts have! ❤️
