How to get over a fight you have with your parent?

Okay, so I know people argue from time to time, but every time my mom & I get into an argument it upsets me so much & it’s always over something so stupid too.

So, we were watching this show about married couples who are friends, basically the whole episode was about cheating. So, my mom says, she can’t see one of the guys cheating on his wife. & I basically said you can’t put anything passed anyone, just because he looks like the “good guy”, look at who he hangs out with, because two of his main friends were cheating on their wives.

So, then the argument escalated, and we started talking about men cheating in general. She said that there’s still good men out there who don’t cheat on their wives. & I said very few, especially with this new generation, it’s very hard to trust people. She used my uncle & aunt for example, they have been married for many years.

However, I said there are things we don’t know about their relationships, that they don’t even have to ever tell us. So, my mom goes, she knows for a FACT 100% that cheating hasn’t happened in their relationships. I laughed and said okay. & that wasn’t to say there has been cheating, but just because I I’m trying to tell her she is not in their relationships & if something like that God forbid ever happen, they don’t ever have to say anything, if they don’t choose to.

My mom feels like her opinion is the only right opinion & no one else can ever have an opinion. & then she makes you feel like you’ve done something totally wrong for having an opinion. I could see if I was actually accusing someone of cheating, but I wasn’t. That’s why I always get mad so fast. Why would I ever want someone to experience cheating. But, you can’t put anything past anyone, period. Now do you think this argument should make me so upset? Idk why it has. My mom & I are best friends, but we look at things differently sometimes
