No more bottles?

Moms, I’m confused!! I know we’re supposed to stop using bottles starting at 1 year, but Im confused about  a) why, like how is a sippy cup better? And b) what kind of cup does your 1ish your old drink their milk out of? And then what do they drink water out of? 
My 13 month old has been using sippy cups for months, but only for water. When we try to give her milk in a sippy cup she makes a face and one won’t drink it.

They suggest just using a normal cup or if a baby won’t take that then a one without a valve. It’s because bottles can cause tooth decay as well as other problems after a year and a baby is old enough to start trying to use a cup x

Try a soft spout sippy cup if you haven’t already and then transition to hard spout. I did this with my older two and doing the same for my youngest. Bottles and soft spouts aren’t good for their teeth much like a pacifier.

I use the tommy tippee sippy cup. For water my son uses the bottles that have the straw or I just carry a water bottle with straws in hand

My 13 month old is the same, I just use bottles she only has milk in the morning and evening so I think it’s fine but she won’t drink milk out of anything else x
