I am really curious

I see so many people doing this and don't understand it. It seems like a way to stay important and have this big reveal but why go to those lengths when no one cares?

If someone is going to "steal your name" they can do it after baby is born anyway. There are a ton of people that will have the name anyways.

I feel like people think too much of it when it's not that big of a deal. It seems like they want people to be excited and invested but don't want to include them in anything?
