My son is 4 weeks and 4 days old. He has had a weight check once a week since he was born. Last week, we were told we had to supplement, and I had been giving him two 2 ounce bottles since then a day. For the last two days, instead of formula, I've used my own milk in a bottle after he nurses. He gained 9 ounces this week and we were told we can stop the formula. I told the doctor that I used a Haakaa and started supplementing him with my own milk. She told me to continue this. But today! My breasts are actually filling. I haven't been able to tell a difference before. He is actively nursing and seems satisfied after nursing, which wasn't the case these last few weeks. Should I still continue to supplement or just allow him to nurse from me? I want to make sure he continues to gain weight. Those 9 ounces make him 7 lbs and 9.5 oz. He was born at 6 lbs 15.8oz. Thanks for any insight, ladies ❤️
