Pumping tips!
Hello! I'm 12 days pp and have been considering starting to pump, but I want to get as much information as I possibly can before I commit. So far breastfeeding has been great, his latch is strong and I'm producing more than enough for him. My boobs become engorged probably twice a day. I'm not looking to pump a lot yet, just enough for a couple of night feeds so dad can be the one to stay up sometimes and so I can start taking a shift or two at work a week. I've heard waiting until 4-6 weeks is recommended but I do not know why. I've heard pumping this early could cause clogged milk ducts? I know everyone has different experiences, which is why I want to hear all of them! We still don't have a set feeding scheduled. There are general times he USUALLY feeds, but he cluster fed for the first week and we just finally stopped that. My biggest fear is only being able to bottle feed what I've pumped, so I want to avoid that at all costs. We tried giving him pacis and he has shown no interest (which honestly is fine with me). Not sure if that's worth mentioning. 😂 again, I'm very new to all of this! So please, give me advice/tips and let me know what your pumping and feeding schedules look like! Thank you all so much in advance 💖💖
