Courthouse wedding before real wedding?

Not sure how silly this sounds..but my fiancé and I are getting legally married a few months before our wedding so BAH can kick in and we’ll have a home to come back to after our real wedding. I live a few hours from his base, so we don’t have a real home yet. This would take off some of the stress. Then when we’re ready, we’ll have a real ceremony/reception. Is this stupid? Still trying to keep it traditional while being practical.
