IS THERE A REGULATION
okay listen to this bologna me and another soldier are going through rn.
i’m not a stranger when it comes it 24 hour duty or staying up for a week straight. HOWEVER, on tuesday my unit was running a range so everyone was called in at 0500. i get there and begin range duty with another soldier. halfway through the day a SSG realized they needed people to watch ammo over night and guess who they pick.. me, ofc. so around 2000 me and the other soldier begin ammo duty, they didn’t pick us up until 0630. and they weren’t even going to let us leave until 0730 but i threw a mini hissy fit lol. and then we had to come back in at 1900 for ammo duty again. also i had to come back into work because i had a meeting at 0900 and then had to fill out some things so i didn’t leave for my house until like 1300 (which i realize isn’t technically their problem).
i know that after a 24 hour duty they have to give you the next 24 hours off. but are they required to give us that time off if we technically were given 5 hours of sleep due to taking shifts on ammo duty ? also aren’t we suppose to be given a certain amount of hours for sleep ?
if so what AR is that ? because i personally don’t really have THAT BIG of a problem with it but i’d like to show the SSG the regulation so that this doesn’t happen to someone else in the future.
