Has your baby been babysat yet?

Question

Beyond daycare, have you left your baby to be babysat? Genuinely curious, no judgement at all. My mom thinks it’s “ridiculous” that she’s never babysat my daughter before, but I have no interest in leaving her yet and also she’s exclusively nursed and nurses on demand so it’s not like I could leave her if I wanted to! 😂

My first was EBF and I feed on demand. I think the first time my Mom watched her during the day she was 1. It was for 1.5hrs when I went to CrossFit. They had come in the evening after she was asleep and watched the monitor before. I had left her with my husband for short periods before that. (obviously he isn't babysitting) Bit it's tough when you're the only source of food! The feeds eventually spread out and solids are introduced then you can start to get away.

I’m not sure what to vote. You mean have a babysitter watch him while his Dad and I leave the house to go on a date? No. 
I’ve asked my mom to come stay with us overnight a few times, though. She plays with our little guy while I shower, nap, or do chores around the house. I let her take baby out for walks of up to 1hour, but then he needs to be back with me to nurse and nap. She offered to do the more traditional “I’ll watch him while you two go out for supper” thing, but I was just like No. I don’t actually want to be away from my baby. I miss him just because I missed a couple hours of his awake time today. And how would that even practically work? he eats so often there’s no time to drive somewhere in between without rushing. Sometimes I wish we could be more flexible with the schedule, but being together keeps baby happy.

Not sure lol. I work from home and there have been a couple occasions when daycare was closed and my mom or sister came over to babysit upstairs while I worked downstairs. I stay out of their way but I’m still there. But either way my mom has offered to babysit one night this month so we can do a haunted hayride thing.
