At work if someone on a different shift doesn't do their job. I work in health care very closely with 4 patients that live in a boarding house kind of  thing. Just for reference. If the person before you leaves trash in the trash can or dishes in the sink or laundry. So you're there for the patients and they can't live without those things done

It’s not being petty, it’s holding them accountable. If it’s in their job description to do those tasks, they should be done.

After the first time you confront them.. anytime after that I’d talk to the supervisor. I hate ppl who can’t finish their job.

Have a talk with the people not doing the job. There's no point in being petty and the amount who said they would is surprising. You're not much better than the person causing the problem if you decide to be a problem back. If the person don't start pulling their weight after being confronted, get someone else involved.
