C section recovery with toddler?

How do you all manage your toddler while you’re recovering from your c-section? My son is 2 and extremely active. He’s heavy so I’m not supposed to lift him or bend over for diaper changes, plus he constantly wants to be on me. I think he’s jealous of his new sister, but I also think he’s just needy in general. How do you manage your toddlers during your recovery period? Did you wait the full 6 weeks before picking them up?

I waited till 8 weeks. My husband was really helpful and lifted my daughter for me or would change her. I would get on the floor to change her too. My daughter was 18 months at the time. I just told her I couldn’t lift her but soon I would. I really had her try to help me. Like “you get to hand me the diapers! Would you like to do that?” I know it’s kinda hard to get excited about stuff like. But make everything a game. It seemed to help me! Good luck!

Nope definitely did not what 6 weeks to pick my toddler up. That’s basically impossible. I waited till I felt better which was about a week/week and a half. I changed him on the couch instead of the floor or on a changing table. And my husband helped a lot. I tried having him hold my hand instead of holding him which helped too.
