First time mom birth story!
Picture this- I’m 39w 2d, no ones put together my daughters changing table yet and my nesting is out of control, my husband is the WORST person when it comes to putting furniture together. So I say “f*ck it” against my husbands wishes and I put that stupid changing table together. It’s now 12 am, I’m finally done with the changing table and I sit on my bed to rest when I starting feeling what I ~think~ are Braxton Hicks but turns out they are real contractions. I feel these

for the next 19 hours while at home with no sleep and trying to hold out as long as I can because GUESS WHAT?! My husbands entire family was on their way back from vacation and I needed his parents to drive us to the hospital because my husband can’t drive (partially blind) and EVERYONE else was busy that week! Lucky me! So his parents get home at 9pm that night (it’s a Sunday, 9-1-19) and I’m like thank the lord and I tell my husband that I’ve been having contractions for the past 19 hours and we need to go to the hospital (I didn’t want him to worry so I didn’t tell him how bad the contractions were, he thought they were Braxton Hicks). He calls his mom, she picks us up and we head to the hospital that’s around 34-40 minutes away. When they check me at the hospital I’m 2 cm but they admit me anyway (thank god) and the doctor tells my husbands mom that I probably won’t have the baby until tomorrow night so she leaves. At this point it’s last midnight and I get IV meds to help me sleep since it’s been over 24 hrs since I’ve slept but I only sleep for around an hour, I go into the birthing tub for a little while and this is when I think I’m in serious labor because I was letting out some screams that I couldn’t control. I get out of the tub and lay back down for a little while but I’m in so much pain it feels like forever. Around 3:45am I call the nurse and say I think my water broke or I peed myself and I feel like I have to push, she acts nonchalant and says okay be right in. She comes in and checks my bed and gets a little concerned and says oh yeah that’s your water and calls the doctor. The doctor comes in, also acting nonchalant and checks me. I’m 9cm, the nurse starts getting everything ready, I’m asking for an epidural, the doctor says he will call the anesthesiologist but I know it’s too late because I immediately scream and say I have to push. I start pushing uncontrollably, the nurse asks my husband if he’s squeamish around blood, he says no, she tells him to grab my leg and hold it so I can push. I push for roughly 40mins and Ta-Da! I had a baby! 5:40am on 9-2-19, 8lbs 4oz, 21 inches! No tearing and no epidural! Not exactly how I planned but I think it was perfect!
