My aunt and uncle just had their first kid, she’s 36 I think and he’s in his early 40’s

I clicked maybe... I think as long as you’re comfortable with waiting then that’s absolutely okay. But obviously the later the maternal age, the higher risk/more complicated your pregnancy could be. For example the chance of baby having downs increases with maternal age. Statistically speaking, a 20 year old has a 1 in 1,500 chance of baby having downs, a 30 year old has a 1 in 800 chance, a 35 year old has 1 in 270 chance and a 40 year old has a 1 in 100 chance. Also, it may be harder to fall pregnant initially which is something you might need to think about. 
I always wanted children young-ish; I’ve just had my first and I’m 26 this year. My sister who is 30 next year doesn’t have any plans for children for at least a few years. I think it’s a very personal decision that only the people involved can make.
