baby number 2

i have a daughter who turned 1 back in august. i really want my kids to be close in age and at one point my husband and i agreed that we wanted another one right around when our first turned 2, which means that right around now would be when we start trying.. i’ve been tracking my period & ovulation and i’m 2 days before i’m supposed to get a period and tested and it came out negative. at first i thought it was because it was too soon to tell, so i took one this morning when i woke up and still negative. any advice?? i’m feeling really bummed out about the fact that i tested negative :/
