Frozen eggs?
What would you?
In 2014 a cancerous tumor was found in my thigh. I had surgery to remove the tumor and 36 rounds of radiation (no chem). Based on the strong recommendations from my radiation oncologist I did IVF treatments to preserve my fertility. Since radiation treatment may cause infertility based on the location of the tumor. My boyfriend (now husband) didn’t want to preserve embryos with me and I didn’t want a sperm donor so I preserved only eggs. 18 eggs were retrieved and only 13 were able to be frozen.
Flash forward 2015 I get married, 2016 I have our first child, 2017 I miscarriage and 2019 I have our rainbow baby all pregnancy without using my frozen eggs. I recently received the first bill for keeping my eggs frozen and I asked my husband what he thought about me looking into selling my eggs. He said no that it wouldn’t feel right with someone having “half” of me. We really could use the money and I don’t see them as a part of me anyway.
What would you? Would you look into the possibility of selling them even though your husband isn’t for it?
