Bleeding and clots after sex post c-section

So I had a c-section 6 weeks ago after 31 hours of pitocin and nearly 4 hours of pushing. I bled for awhile, but had mostly stopped after a few weeks and nothing over the last 2 weeks.

I haven’t had a pelvic exam post surgery, my doctor’s office just does a 3 week incision check and then an 8 week exam. My doctor prescribed the mini pill, which I started a week ago.

Yesterday my husband and I had sex for the 1st time since baby. It was actually quite painful and I started bleeding after. Today I am bleeding fairly heavily, bright red with substantial clots not enough to fill a pad every hour, but more than I’m use to (even with my periods). I wouldn’t worry, but the combination of pain and bleeding is disconcerting. Is this normal? Did anyone experience anything like this?
