I had 2 one at 40 weeks I just had spotting after but no mucus plug or contractions then just got contractions out of nowhere at 40+6 a day before I was scheduled to get another membrane sweep, I had contractions 2mins apart lasting a min for 24 hours went to hospital they decided to induced because I was stuck at a 2cm that whole time and baby’s heart rate kept dipping, they broke my waters I had baby 3 hours later didn’t have time to get my epidural.
Membrane sweeps are less likely to work the first time around especially if it’s your first baby, it will only work if your body is ready for it like you’re already starting to dilate and efface.

Got my sweep done at 39+5 and had my baby on her due date. So 2 days later and I was having irregular contractions 2 hours after the sweep.
