Is this legit

I’m gonna be 18 by May (7 months) and i got told that for the last 7 months of being 17 the adults around me are going to try to take care of me better. Meaning punishing those who do wrongs to me, protect me, watch out for me, etc. which adults never done for me growing up. It makes no sense because when I was 16 and younger I would do things I shouldn’t be ( drinking, smoking, etc) and nobody told me not to do that. Now it pisses me off because I’m about to be 18 and I just got told that the school, police and my parents are trying their best to help me when they never tried to. Also I’m gonna be 18 and graduate school in a few months. Even when I would report things to them they ignored it and they promise me they won’t anymore. (Because the school authority, my parents all almost got arrested and fired for neglect of a child and a few other things) but I was forced to make a promise to them that I won’t do things I’m not supposed to anymore until I’m 18 (so they won’t get charges for it)
