Is anybody else panicking over Christmas and buying baby stuff?! 😰

Hi! I’m not sure if it’s just my hormones 🤣 but I’m really stressing over the amount of ‘paydays’ I have left until the baby comes and the fact that Christmas is in between! I’m scheduled for a c section at 39 weeks at the end of feb, so I’ve only really got November, December and January’s pay to get the rest of the baby things, but I’m stressing as we have a very large family we need to buy for over Christmas! Is it just me? 😅

You don’t NEED to buy people christmas presents.
It’s not a necessity. You could always say you would rather save for the baby which is by far more important and you could just provide home cooked meals and hand made gifts or something for the family. Or just stick to the children rather than adults.
We RARELY give adult presents on Christmas anymore due to none of us ever having money. It’s all a show for the kiddies.

I’d just make stuff for Christmas or just give cards. I’m sure your family would understand. I know mine would. Maybe ask for baby stuff for Christmas to save yourself money as well? Our family usually makes bakes or thirfts all occasions that need gifts anyway but it’s great for reducing costs as well.

My partner and I come from large families. This year I put my foot down and instead suggested that with our friends (we do a friend Christmas catch up the week before Christmas) we do a “bad Santa” game instead and NO buying each other gifts. I suggested the same for all of our siblings. This has saved us buying for 14 people. For our nieces and nephews and godchildren we have said we’re just giving them $10 in a card to go to their bank accounts and we expect no gifts if not the same for our son. Otherwise the kids end up with unnecessary gifts when they already get so much from grandparents and what not, plus we appreciate time and experiences together rather than material gifts. 
I suggest looking up the game and suggesting it. As adults we usually buy want we want/need so I’ve found this game a funny money saving alternative!

Unrelated to my first comment but yes I’m stressed as hell.
We are looking for a bigger house as we are currently living in a granny flat behind my mother, on top of buying all new Christmas decor and tree, a couple things for my son for Christmas (he’ll only be 10 months old), stuff for my daughter since we have to start all over, only surviving off government assistance and paying off a car, on top of a few other little things... money is finally getting tight.
Afterpay and laybuy has become our friend.

Yes!! I’m flying home with my husband to VA and it’s a 1,700$ flight then we are going to AZ for his parents Christmas then back here to CA 😳 idk how we are going to buy presents and baby stuff !! It’s not like we don’t have the money but I HATE taking money out of our savings.

Yes! Plus we’re moving across the country so I’ve already been out of work a week 🙃 and will not be returning. The stress of a post holiday baby is real
