Too soon?

I left an incredibly toxic relationship on Friday. I was with him for 5 and a half years, but I moved on months ago.
How soon is too soon to date?
(btw I never cheated or even spoke to another guy).

I was in a very tumultuous relationship for 5 years. I too had started separating myself from the relationship before the distinct end. I went out on a date like 2 days after lol. I wanted to have fun and distract myself. I am now married to that man. It was probably too soon and we did have some troubles in the beginning. I don't regret it obviously. I don't know who I would have met or what would have happened if I had waited. That's the way life always is though. So do what feels best for you.

I left an abusive relationship that lasted 3 and a half years. (The final straw was when he cheated on me with my little sister IN MY HOUSE while I was at work). And just about 3 weeks later I started dating my husband. He took me to a pre new years eve party at his friends house, asked me if I was ready to be his girlfriend. I said yes, and we've been nearly inseperable since December 30, 2011
If you moved on emotionally months ago, and you feel ready for a new opportunity and you're comfortable with the thought of being with someone again, GO FOR IT GIRL!!!

There’s no right or wrong answer here. Everyone heals from a toxic relationship differently. I emotionally detached myself from my ex months before we split up too. And I moved on fairly quickly at first. I went on a date about 2 weeks after we broke up. But I realized pretty quickly that I wasn’t emotionally ready to jump into dating again so I decided to take some time to myself to learn who I was outside of that toxic relationship.
I met my now husband about 2 years after splitting up with my ex. I was in a better place mentally and knew exactly who I was and what I wanted in a partner.
