Sex after vaginal tear?

Question

My doc says because of scar tissue sex will be painful for 6 months after delivery... she said 6 week postpartum mark will be way too early for sex... anyone with experience have a second opinion?  Six months seems excessive. My tear was not severe.

I had a tear with my first son it was a very small one I had sex at 7 weeks the first few times it felt odd little pressure some pain but not to the point where I couldn’t handle it  and after a few time everything was back to normal... I would definitely wait the 6 weeks and then go slow and see how she feels how her body is heeling everyone heels different

Please ask for a referral to a pelvic floor or women’s health Physical Therapist. They will be able to help with recovery and prevent other issues such as leaking/incontinence and prolapse which don’t always rear their ugly heads until much, much later. I don’t care what any uninformed person or medical professional tells you, leaking “a little” when you laugh, sneeze, or cough IS NOT MORMAL and do not accept this, Advocare for yourself!

I had an episiotomy with my first. It hurt like hell when we had sex the first time at 6 weeks. We waited and tried again at 8 weeks. It was more doable then. I’d say it wasn’t feeing back to normal until 3ish months postpartum. You very well may be good to go before 6 months. 
With my second, I tore along the same spot as my previous episiotomy. We had sex at 6 weeks and there was no pain at all 🤗🤗

I had a episiotomy and didnt even attempt sex until after 8 weeks of healing..lots of lube and you'll be fine,the first few times will deffinetly hurt.

I had to get cut and resewn 9 weeks pp due to overhealing. My doctor told me to wait another 6 weeks before having sex and then to do it multiple times a week for 3 weeks because itll hurt initially but by then itll be better. I also have scar tissue. He said ic it still hurts after those 3 weeks to call to see if he needs to do some more revisions. So that doesnt sound right to me at all.

I had a 3C tear and had very little pain the first time, more so uncomfortable than painful. And back to normal after that. But because of the severity of the tear I was seeing a pelvic floor physio and doing perineal massage before that so I assume that helped.

🤔 my girlfriend got a tear that wasn't bad either. She figured if she was able to put a toy in and not be painful she would of been able to handle her husband. They started having sex at 9 weeks pp but toy was tested from 7 weeks pp she said the first time she did it with her toy it hurt like razor blades was cutting her. Then she found out with lube makes everything better. She kicks herself in the ass for it all the time becuz she could of got back on her sattle long before she was able

I am one week shy of a year PP and it still hurts. I am about to start PT to see if that helps. I had a pretty bad year though.
