23, not married, and pregnant

My SO and I have always wanted kids and have been together 3.5 years. We were friend for a few years before that. We are both excited but today I am feeling overwhelmed in anxiety over telling our families.

We are both 23 and both work full time, stable jobs. We live on our own and do not depend on our families for finances (ie we pay all of our own bills and have been saving to buy a house) I’m only 5 weeks and found out 4 days ago so maybe shock is just not hitting me.

I am so scared to announce. His parents will be way harder than my dad. They’ll be upset we aren’t married. We aren’t even engaged (although prior to this point I’ve been expecting it). They’ll be upset because they will be concerned we won’t buy a house. His mom is crazy and will probably think I’m trying to trap him. She accused his sister in law of being a gold digger even though her husband doesn’t make much money. Ugh I’m so upset even though she should have no place to judge. She got pregnant at 19 after dating a few months and married right away. Divorced. Met my significant other’s dad and was pregnant very early again. Then got married after he was born.
