Today was my 21st birthday and my boyfriend of 5 years and I went to the bowling alley. When we got there he didn’t want to bowl so we just did the arcade even though I really wanted to bowl and kept asking him. Then I wanted to go to the bar that’s in the arcade (it’s not even in a separate room) since I can legally drink now and get a margarita and he said that’s not fun for him since he’s still 20 and can’t drink yet and he doesn’t want to be there with me/would go back to the car. I don’t care about partying/drinking at all but he’s making this night all about him when I always go above and beyond for his birthdays. Would this upset you?

If he didnt want to do anything you wanted to do, he should have said something before you guys even went. If he was going to be like that, you could have made other plans or done that with friends who would let you celebrate you. That's super disappointing. Theres nothing wrong with you wanting to have fun and let loose a bit, especially on your birthday.
