Bath birth?

Is anyone planning to use a bathtub for either birthing or pain management? For anyone who has, did you feel it helped? How was your experience?

Yes, I labored in the shower at home, and then I labored in the tub at the hospital. My hospital does not do water births, and I’m not really interested in one anyway. But I did labor in the tub for about an hour. They wanted to check my cervix, so I got out, and I got an epidural soon after that. 
I did like having the tub to ease some of the pain in early labor. It does help a bit. But it is confining, and it’s a bit of a pain when the doctors and nurses want to do the occasional monitoring to make sure everything is ok. I’ll probably do it for a bit again with this pregnancy depending on how my labor goes.

I had my first in a water birth. It was Amazing and hoping to do it again for my second babba! Whilst I was having contractions.... I had to get out of thr bath to check how many cm I was dilated, the contractions were more intense outside the water..... I couldn't wait to jump back in. Just make sure your belly is fully under the water!
I also found the actually pushing part better in water also as it didn't sting as much.

I wanted to use the tub for my daughter at the hospital but since I ended up being induced they had to monitor her heart so I couldn’t

I did for a short period only cause the epidural man was coming at his only free time so I was only in the bath 10 minutes but it did help.. it felt so good to be warm! I’ll definitely try it again this go round if I get the same birthing suite

I had a water birth and it was amazing. It wasn't a bathtub but a birthing tub, so it felt like a squishy hot tub. It was so comfortable to lean against the side through contractions since it was soft but supporting. Am planning on doing it again with this baby, I didn't get in the tub until I was 9 cm so I was in misery at that point but being in warm water was a life saver for those last 40 minutes!

Labored in tub a couple hours total. Still was in agony every contraction lol. Maybe it helped but honestly I wanted to be alone and crawl in a hole. It was better than when I was hunched over an inflatable chair on all fours, but I think that was during transition.

100% definitely will be and did for my last two births ( for pain relief, I didn’t give birth in the bath ). For me the only thing that is as good as a really hot bath during contractions is an epidural ( which is better relief but then your also stuck in bed which sucks ). “Loved” labouring in the bath.

I’d love to give this a go. But my closest hospital has recently taken out their tubs for health and safety reasons 🙄
