MIL assuming we will be at thanksgiving? 😣

I’m getting a little stressed... but am I wrong to? Baby will be induced 15th. I’m not sure I’ll be ready or comfortable to leave the house with the baby for thanksgiving. 
I’m stressed about taking him out while I’m still learning breastfeeding and managing sleep schedules, not to mention postpartum recovery.
Am I anxious for nothing? I know a lot of people love leaving the house with a 2 week old but I might not be ready for that...

That’s very soon I stayed in the house for the first two weeks after leaving the hospital. I would play it by ear and see how u feel. On the other hand, being around family who can help with the baby is always good.

I personally love getting out of the house and around people after having my babies. My therapist strongly recommended that I get out of the house at least once a day because staying isolated is a great way to end up with severe PPD. 
Do what makes you comfortable, though. If you know you’re going to be stressed and people are going to be all over you and baby, then say no! You’re not being rude by prioritizing you and your little one. There will be plenty more holidays for them to love on baby. They can miss this one.

If you’re not ready don’t go. My parents live 10 minutes away from me and I didn’t go to dinner at their house until my daughter was 3 weeks old and even then, I didn’t stay long and I just wanted to go home. I would have your husband just flat out tell his mother no. You need to worry about yourself and your baby. Everyone has a different adjustment process, but I would have been miserable going to a thanksgiving dinner at 2 weeks pp.

I wouldn’t go. At the very least I wouldn’t plan to go because of all the reasons you listed and because the guests will be all over the baby and you’ll have to worry about the other guests being sick and getting your baby sick. If it’s a private dinner with just your mil see if she’s willing to come to your place instead. If you do end up going and there are guests consider using a baby wrap so it’ll be more difficult for others to pick up your baby without permission. Have a wonderful delivery and holiday!

It's up to the individual,  I was out within 2 weeks. We had Easter  Events to get to.... I was ready to get out of the house 😂  I wouldn't  overly stress about it.  But even if you dont go, I wouldn't  forbid your husband to go.  I would just be very adamant  about no one being even slightly  sick the recent week.

I’d wait and see how you feel. I personally was more than ready to leave the house for a few hours at a time when my son was 2 weeks old, but everyone is different. If you have a good relationship with your MIL, tell her you aren’t sure if you’ll be up to it, if you don’t... put that job on your husband. You and your baby come first, you need to do what’s best for you.  You may find that you welcome the adult interaction for a few hours, or you may not.  I don’t think you’ll know for sure until your baby is here and you’re going through your own recovery.

If you don’t feel comfortable don’t go. Personally I went out with my son the day after we got home from the hospital (5 days pp) but I know a lot of people who prefer to stay at home the first few weeks. I was just already really stir crazy after my hospital stay 😂
