Progesterone injection fear

So my retrieval is tomorrow (eek!) and then I start the progesterone injections Friday night. I am TERRIFIED of that intramuscular needle. My

IVF nurse said to put ice on the area before, and massage with a warm cloth after and walk around for at least 5 minutes.

Does anyone else have good advice to add? How badly did the shot hurt for you?

Supposedly they are drawing circles on me while I’m under tomorrow so we know where they go. She told me my husband needs to “shoot it like a dart.” I’m so nervous he will hesitate and it will be that much worse.
