If given the option would you try for a VBAC?

Hi Ladies,
My due date is soon approaching and my OB is asking me if I’ve decided yet how I’d like to try and deliver this baby. She’s giving me the option to try a VBAC or have a repeat Cesarean.
To be quite honest I am still on the fence. I think I have PTSD from my sons birth last year (March 2018) they believe I developed Pre-E and my kidneys were giving out completely. Baby and I were in danger so we were rushed to an emergency Csection. Also when the delivering OB checked me down there he said my Pelvis May be too small even though he believed my baby wasn’t big at all :/ 
I don’t know. I am very torn. 
Can anyone offer any useful advice or feedback?

I’m going for a VBAC this time. I’ve become a birth doula after my first and really feel comfortable with the stats and the safety of it. I also don’t want to have to care for a toddler while recovering.

My first was an emergency c-section and here I am 7 months pregnant ready to try VBAC! My doctor was sooo discouraging and said I HAD to have a repeat csection 🙄 Why? Because by the time I would be delivering baby number #2 it would be so close from birth of baby #1. They will be 20 months apart btw. Thank God I switched to a midwife and she was so encouraging and told me all the benefits of attempting VBAC rather than having a repeat csection. I'm so much happier because this is what I wanted to do! I am praying when it comes down to it baby is not stubborn and it will be successful. I definitely don't want another csection, I hate everything about it 😣

I’m having an elective csection for my second. My first was also an elective but because I have placenta prévia. I don’t want to VBAC this time just because I don’t want to, personal preference. However as long as you’ve had a healthy pregnancy you have a very high chance of a successful VBAC.

I’m really undecided too. Had an emcs with my first 3 years ago due to my daughter HR dropping and getting distressed after 3 days of attempting to induce me. i got to 3-4cm dilated. The section was fine and I don’t think the recovery was too bad the thing that bugged me was being unable to drive for several weeks. 
My consultant is keen for me to try a vbac and chance is about 75% and i was keen at first but I think of all the things that could go wrong with a vaginal delivery such as bad tearing, baby getting stuck, needing forceps or needing another emcs and i get scared and i’m leaning towards a planned c section now. very few of my mum friends had straightforward deliveries tbh most had complications and some still have problems with continence years down the line so I lack
confidence in normal uncomplicated deliveries

I think I would trust my doctor and if he/she wasn't worried I would try. I would just ask them what they recommend considering what you went through the first time. If they think you and baby are safe I would go VBAC because of the recovery. If Dr doesn't think it's worth it then go with C-section. 
I am very nervous about my repeat section this time around but I don't have the option for VBAC. The C-section was what was traumatic the first time but I'm just trying to stay positive it will be a totally different experience. 😩

I am having the same problem. I fully dilated to 10cm with my son, started pushing, then his heart rate kept dropping so we had to do emergency c section. 
My doctor suggested maybe I do a VBAC this time but I can’t decide!  It would be pretty nice knowing the exact date of the repeat csection, but I HATED the recovery. But apparently it would be an easier recovery with the second csection since I won’t have gone into labor first.. plus I just really didn’t like the feeling of them moving my organs around & the pressure (not pain) during the surgery. VBAC recovery with a toddler sure would be easier, but then again I could end up tearing which might be more painful than csection recovery!
Sorry I’m no help, just in the same boat 😂. I think my plan is to schedule the csection at 40+1, (my son was 5 days late), and if I go into labor before then, I’ll try for a vbac.
