Csection after traumatic first birth

Hi all, so I am currently 6 weeks pregnant with baby #2. My first was born last September and I had a really traumatic difficult birth. He ended up having a severe shoulder dystocia (the midwifes said it was the worst they've seen) and then my littlw boy had an infection and ended up in nicu for a week. Then i ended up with sepsis from an infected stitch. I was told after giving birth last time that due to thw risks of another shoulder dystocia and how severe it was, i will never be allowed a natural birth again. I know that this is best for me and baby but i'm terrified. My little boy won't even be 2 when baby is born and I know i won't be able to pick him up for a while etc.

How long was recovery after your csection and when could you start picking up your older one if you have another child? Any advice on how to calm my nerves already would be great and i'd just love to hear all your experiences with a csection. Recovery time and hospital stay etc and just how it all felt and went.
