Bf not wanting to go to planned birthday festivities for our daughter.

****Little background story: my parents (especially my dad) don’t particularly like my bf and my bf knows, and he doesn’t really like them.

So my boyfriend and I were lightly talking about doing something with our daughter for her birthday (turning 2). Nothing was ever planned other than her birthday party which is the day after her birthday.

We went to go see peppa live with his mom and her husband as a birthday present.

my parents and my sister wanted to take her bowling on her actual birthday with my bf and I there of course. Our daughter loves bowling so I thought it was a great idea! I tell my bf and he kind of just shrugs it off. So I wait a few days and tonight I had mentioned it again. He told me he doesn’t want to go. I asked if he just wants to do something with us three. He shrugs and says no. I’m asking him why he doesn’t want to go and he says he just doesn’t want to. Then makes the excuse of “I don’t want to pay for everyone” which then I replied telling him my parents are paying. He still tells me he doesn’t want to go.

I have this gut feeling it’s because it’s with my parents, anyone else and he wouldn’t care.

It breaks my heart that it seems as if he can’t get over his pettiness for one day for our daughters birthday. I explained to him that my dad was just the same. Never came to anything with us and honestly seemed like he could care less about us (he has since changed). I began tearing up telling his that it still to this day bothers me and I don’t want that for my daughter. And I know she won’t remember, but I will. And he does it now, chances are he keeps doing it.

Now I understand that some of you may say that I’m overreacting and it’s just one day, but it just hits really close to home.

Am I being unreasonable and overreacting. Like I don’t even wanna look at him right now, that’s how upset I am with him.
