So my boyfriend and I recently had a make out session on thrusday. Everything accelerated real fast to the point where he started fingering me. Afterwards I went to my girlfriends house and when I went to the bathroom there was blood on the napkin. They said it was probably my cherry was popped mind you we didn’t have SEX. Today when I used the bathroom there was a lot of blood on my panties but I don’t have no cramps, back pain nothing. I’m so confused!!!!!!

Hymens can break from any vigorous physical activity, like gymnastics, horseback riding, biking, etc. Your hymen or “cherry” doesn’t mean anything. If you define sex as only vaginal intercourse, then you can say you’re a virgin. The problem is, virginity is a social construct, traditionally used to determine female value... but I think sex is a big pool, and even if you’re not diving in the deep end, you’re still sexually active. So where does that leave labels like “virgin”? Some sexual acts are just riskier than others (fingering is a lower risk as far as pregnancy or STIs). I personally would say you’re a virgin, but it’s most important that YOU define yourself with as much generosity and kindness as possible.

That’s what happened to me. It hurt to sit too. When I finally had sex I didn’t bleed. I think fingering tore my hymen, but the hymen is an outdated way to think of virginity, so don’t worry about it too much
