Gender stereotypes
I’m venting because I found out the sex of my baby which is female but already people are saying things like “oh she will be a princess” “she’s going to be so beautiful” “she’s going to be sassy” and so on. I hate that no one is saying she will be tough like me or smart like me or go on to get her doctorate since I’m working on mine now. Everything just seems to be so focused on her potential looks and “attitude” and not her potential on everything else. This was my fear with having a girl and here it is. Please stop automatically assuming every mom of a girl is raising a princess or fears her attitude or her dating life (she’s still cooking at 20 weeks like why are you talking about this?). I’m just hoping for a healthy empathetic loving strong innovator human being who will change the world for the better not hindered by her genitals. End rant!
