Why are people so pushy

So thursday LO will be 5 weeks and I'll be 5 weeks out from a c section. We moved 15 days before I gave birth so we are still trying to unpack and find a place for everything. 
My sister in law got married 2 weekends ago and all of my husbands family was so pushy about coming over to see the new house and spend time with out new LO. Like do they not realize what we all just went through with moving and birth and recovering?!?! Like well let you know when we are ready. We had some people trying to plan and invite them selves over that night....
Ugh sorry I just had to vent I just want to spend some time getting settled in my house before we have a million people over.

Ugh seriously don’t blame you.  I’d tell them that after all the chaos the past couple of months, you still need a bit of time to settle in and will let them know when you’re ready for guests.

I had ELEVEN visitors at once in the hospital the day after she was born, I was too tired to fight it. Stand your ground! I regret not advocating for myself in that moment

My in-laws asked us to come over for a big family dinner two weeks after my baby was born...like no. I can barely even sit up still I’m not spending hours away from home with my tiny (premature) baby.

Yeah totally understand now. I am a FTM and before birth I was like yeah you guys can totally come visit but after an unplanned c section I will definitely limit the visiting hours next time to 2 hours in the evening 1 day in the hospital and that is it. I was so exhausted with the constant influx of visitors, I do not know what I was thinking. I was in tears by day 2, never again 😜. People don't think about it, I think they just truly don't understand.
