another crazy delivery

kyliee • greyson & addie bobbitt 👶🏻❤️

so some of you might remember me, I’m the woman who gave birth last year to a baby boy on January 22nd & broke my pubic bone during delivery after complaining of inflammation in the hips for months prior to delivery.

well fast forward to about 5 months ago when we found out we were having another baby in January 2020. (yes, it was planned.)

everything was going fairly smooth despite the constant hip pain due to the breakage never fully healing. about a month ago I started complaining about having some ridiculous discharge, as in a crazy amount & having to change panties every few hours. just a lot of gunk. went into the doctors office these last two weeks & got put on antibiotics to treat a “UTI”. twice. had my glucose test last week & had them check me again to see what was causing it. “everything came back normal.” so I went on about my business, keeping an eye on it.

I wake up this morning at 29 weeks exactly to my husband calling & saying he needs to go to the ER to take a flu & strep test so he can get diagnosed & get back to work tomorrow morning with a doctors note. as I’m getting ready I feel a ridiculously sharp pain in my abdomen, but I was under the impression it was just a braxton hick at the time. go to the restroom before leaving & there’s blood... I called the OB nurse 6 times & couldn’t get through so I went ahead with my plans & just decided to get checked out too while we were there.

I get signed in (the lady at registration didn’t take me seriously AT ALL). get up to triage & automatically start having crazy pressure & contractions. I’m leaking everywhere & legitimately contracting every 2 minutes. next thing I know I’m being wheeled into a room, rolled onto a bed, & being pumped with medicines. (no epidural) all within the hour I’m laying in the hospital bed in L&D having crazy abdominal pain & all of the sudden my OB comes in, breaks my water, & I’m being told to push one time. I never got the confirmation from anyone that I was having a baby today. I had absolutely no idea what was happening. I still don’t even have any clue as to what put me into preterm labor or why they couldn’t stop it. no answers.

according to the NICU nurses I saved my babies life by simply thinking I was going to come in, get a quick ultrasound, & then go sit with my husband in the ER. my baby would not have made it if I hadn’t of just so happened to come in this morning & realized that something wasn’t right. TRUST YOUR BODY LADIES. IT WILL SPEAK TO YOU WHEN SOMETHING IS WRONG.

my baby girl is 3 lbs exactly & is doing exceptionally well, she’ll be in the NICU for about a month & a half to 2 months, but she’s breathing on her own already & her lungs are currently in the process of developing to their full capacity.

**DISCLAIMER** I’m still in shock & completely confused/uneducated when it comes to preterm labor & NICU terminology so there’s a very good chance that I worded something wrong in here but I wanted to share my story from my POV to the best of my ability. I apologize if I got anything wrong or if it seems spaced out. I’m genuinely still in shock from yet another traumatic delivery.
