How do I get her to understand ??
One of my friends thinks she is pregnant. Despite the fact the she has had her period every month, except for this past month (she’s late) but thats not uncommon since she is on birth control. She thinks she can feel a baby kicking her inside, and she’s told many people she is pregnant already. Including this guy she hooked up with and she has him believing her imaginary baby is his.
I tell her that if she was pregnant the tests she has taken would come back positive, that she wouldnt have gotten her period, and even if she was pregnant she wouldnt be far enough along to feel anything kicking so its likely just gas. But she makes up an excuse for everything despite the facts.
She says false negatives are common, which they are but literally she took a test today and it was negative yet she claims to feel kicking? So if she was that far along it would be positive. She’s never had a positive test. She says some women get their period and are still pregnant but thats so rare. So how do i get her to understand that if all signs are pointing to no, there’s no reason to suspect she is pregnant?? Especially because she is on birth control (the shot) and she’s not due for another shot for another two months? Im honestly thinking she needs psychological help.
I told her to go to the doctor to see herself she isn’t pregnant but she says the refuse since she hasnt gotten a positive test. She’s a grown ass woman and cant accept the fact that she isn’t pregnant
Edit: she is 27 years old, she has never been pregnant before i asked and we have been friends for years. Maybe if she was ttc or wanted a baby now i can get why she would be paranoid that she is pregnant but like i said she’s on birth control. Why get birth control if you want to get pregnant? And she doesn’t have a boyfriend or partner. The guy was just someone she randomly hooked up with. Im not understanding her or why she insists she is pregnant.
