Had the big time change birth plan!

On November 5, 10 days overdue, I went into labour. I was scheduled for an induction that day but since labour had initiated, it was cancelled. I laboured for 28 hours. I went to the hospital after around 20 hours at 4 cm dilated. I made it to 5 cm and then wanted an epidural, despite preferring a labour without this in my birth plan. Once I got the epidural I needed to get oxytocin as my contractions slowed down a bit and I was stuck for hours at 6 cm. At that point the baby’s heart rate dropped and various specialists ran into the room. They managed to get the baby’s heart rate up but then it went too high and wouldn’t come down. An emergency c section was suggested. I really wanted a vaginal birth and was scared about a c section. One hour later my sweet little angel was born by emergency c section as healthy as can be. Although it’s not the birth I would have chose I’m happy with the outcome and am recovering well. Now it’s all about adjusting to life with a sweet newborn. ❤️
