11 weeks pregnant and spotting blood

So yesterday night when I wiped after using the bathroom I saw blood on the tissue. I don’t feel comfortable posting pics so I’m just going to describe what I saw. It was a smudge of red blood that covered the tissue like I had my period on a light day. I wiped about 4 times and every time there was red dark blood. I got scared so my husband to me to the ER and they said baby is good but that the bleeding was coming from my Uterus and that it was common. Has this happened to anyone?? I have a follow up with my Obgyn in two days. I never experience this in my first pregnancy so it was alarming to experience this. I didn’t experience any pain and zero cramps just light bleeding. The spotting stopped after my visit and everything was normal the next day. Has this happen to anyone before? I wonder if I strained myself or something?
